Wine Affirmation

We have a team of experienced winemakers as part of our network. At Intrepid Winemakers, we can provide owners, directors, and winemakers with an independent review of your wines – finished or unfinished – to support the current wine making team and systems and provide suggestions for consideration by your current team.
This can be done on-site or simply by sending wines to our Chief Winemaker – Jennifer Bound, based in Australia. We also have associates in Europe and North America as well.

Vineyard Management

It is easy to grow vines, but we grow good wines. This is our ethos at Intrepid Winemakers which we believe has played a significant role in our multiple medal and trophy winning journey around the world.

We will communicate with the vineyard team guiding them through each season. Using a detailed Labour Plan, Irrigation Program, and Spray Program. Eventually empowering your team with the skills and resources to successfully accomplish your goal of growing good wine.

Recent developments in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) are empowering the team at Intrepid Winemakers with maps of your vineyard that help us identify soil variation, varietal and clonal variation, trellising variation, etc. This also allows us to identify the impact this variation has on the final product- the wine. By producing Zonal maps, we can suggest solutions to mitigate any negative impact this variation may have. The maps can help us target specific areas accurately, ultimately reducing cost and potentially adding to the quality of the final product.
From the soil to the satellite, we use generated data to identify:

• Soil Types – EM38, Radiometrics.
• Soil Depth – EM38.
• Soil Variation – EM38, Radiometrics.
• Biomass – NDVI, NDRE.
• Yield Estimates – Yield App (GIS Mapping)
• Yield Variation (within Blocks) – Yield App.

Viticulture Technician Services

 

Intrepid Winemakers can provide a team to collect standard and advanced information of bud, shoot, flower, and bunch numbers. We can then report the significance of any anomalies. We can report phenological stages and any signs of pest, disease and nutritional deficiency.

Vineyard Establishment and Advice

 

 

With a global perspective due to our unique international experience, we can plan and if required, project manage the establishment of your vineyard.
With an experienced Precision Viticulture team, we will map your proposed site, identifying soil variation and make informed decisions from the detailed maps.

A physical and chemical analysis helps us recommend an appropriate fertiliser strategy to ensure your vineyard has the best beginning possible.
From all this valuable information, we can then suggest the following:
• Layout of blocks.
• Ideal row and plant spacing.
• Rootstock, Variety, and Clone recommendations.
• Indicative operating costs.
We also have an extensive global network which could help oversee the establishment and ongoing management.
